
Yuanyuan Zhang (张媛媛) is a Chinese-born ballet dancer from Korla, Xinjiang, who has quickly established herself as a principal dancer at the Dutch National Ballet.
About Yuanyuan
Youth
Born in Korla, Xinjiang, Yuanyuan Zhang began Chinese dance at six and ballet at nine after joining the Sichuan Dance School in Chengdu.
Education
At sixteen, she trained at Shanghai Theatre Academy. In 2014, she won gold at the South African International Ballet Competition, leading to an invitation to join Dutch National Ballet.
Career
Yuanyuan joined the Junior Company in 2014 and rose through the ranks to become principal dancer in 2024. She has starred in Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and more.
